The Claxton Monument and Fountain in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens was recommissioned in 1997 after extensive renovations and a computerised engraving system was purchased for the labelling of plants.The Claxton Monument is an important part of Ballarat Botanical Gardens historic statuary. This item was used in Dicken's Store. Originally the Pardew Brothers store in Nicholson Street, Orbost, Frank Dicken purchased the shop business. It was a bakery and general store and was known as F.B. Dicken and Son. In 1948 they bought the shop freehold . The store remains today converted into two separate shops. The meat slicer was purchased from Henry Berry and Company a large wholesale grocers and general merchant company, first established in Melbourne in 1859.The Dicken store is a prominent Orbost building. Frank and May Dicken moved to Orbost in 1936 where Frank became manager of Pardew Brothers store in Nicholson Street. In 1945, Frank purchased the business and in 1947, formed a partnership with his son, Selwyn. The store was then called F.B. Dicken and Son. Item purchased on eBay 2016. Belonged to Terry Pepperell (dec 2013), an avid school badge collector and an expert in school memorabilia. This pendant was possibly designed by Terry. Terry was a past President of the Numismatic Association of Victoria and a medal designer in his own right. His significant private collection of school memorabilia was auctioned after his death. This piece was purchased by James McLachlan-Troup and sold to the school via eBay. No particular significance to the school apart from its creative use of school memorabilia. Brendon Kurtze believed it was from the 'Constant', but the wreck was later proven to be the 'Regia' by V.A.S.Wooden painted figurehead believed to be from the barque 'Regia' (built 1835). Painted white female with floral wreath in hair, holding a scroll in both hands, sash over right shoulder, diamond-shaped object on ribbon around neck, beaded necklace, dress with puffed short sleeves, bare arms, hair set in curls and a bun on the back of head.
