The bush children, exploring an old deserted house, were chased by a spooky-looking creature. They escaped into a cellar under the courtyard. Edward Ralph Norman enlisted initially as No 260 in the Australian Naval & Military Expeditionary Force (Tropical unit) B Coy on 11.8.14. He was discharged on 4.3.15. He then re enlisted as No 4535 in the 14th reinforcements 3rd Batt AIF. He was hospitalised with Influenza on 3.5.17. He attended Officer Training School and was appointed 2nd Lieutenant on 1.8.18. Colour slides of people in an open sided tent on the Government House lawn. They are large style canvas tents on loan from the Army for the occasion. Melbourne Legacy held an annual Christmas Party for Junior Legatees and Widows at Government House for many years. The year is unknown but likely to be during the 1950s. A group of slides in glass mounts with green tape are probably from a couple of consecutive years. They will be catalogued separately. Was with many other slides taken in the 1950s and 1960s. The slides have been photographed to make digital images and moved to archive quality sleeves.
