Mr. J. K. McCaskill was a Mayor of Ringwood on several occasions and founder of Ringwood Historical Research Group.1.Typed letter on cream coloured paper to Mr. McCaskill from the Mother Prioress, Mother Bernard, to talk at the school on Ringwood History on 9th. August 1961 2.Hand written copy on cream coloured paper replying to the invitation with the acceptance to talk at the school on 24th. August at 1.45p.m. and signed J McCaskill. 3.Hand written letter written by Marlene Tankard to Mr. McCaskill thanking him for his talk. 4.Unused stationery with Borough of Ringwood Crest on each. -

Work on paper, Hand written and typed notes on Heathmont Railway Station 1889-1927 by Pat Talbot used in the book "Wielands of Heathmont"
These notes were used extensively in the book the "Wielands of Heathmont", pages 18 and 19, written by Pat Talbot and her husband Don. The notes tell how in 1922 a Railway League was formed with Herman Pump as chairman. The Wieland brothers used their horses and plough in 1926 to help build the Heathmont station. Pat was the-great -Granddaughter of Carl Wieland. The notes also include the Heathmont Information League. Short history typed and handwritten of Heathmont Railway station 1889-1927 among other notes for the Wieland history.written by Pat Talbot (nee Wieland). Large pad of note pages. -

In 1994, the City of Moorabbin was integrated into the Cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston and Monash This Issue contains photographs of the CMHS Christmas Lunch, new BCM Toilet, Life member Lorna Thatcher, local Heritage buildings, and William Highett. Members are given the Dates of Events and Committee Meetings ,in 2016, the trial of an extra Open day on the 2nd Sunday of the month and Membership Renewals are due. Sponsors of the successful Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Moorabbin January 2nd 2016 have received Certificates of Appreciation designed by Fran Bader as did Nick Staikos MP Bentleigh for copying CMHS fliers. The story of the development of Highett, and requests for photos of the former City of Moorabbin and works by August Rietman as we prepare for the Centenary of his arrival at Box Cottage 2017 which will proceed following CMHS being chosen to join the MAV Roving Curator Program. Members are asked to submit suggestions for a ' Local History Walk'. CMHS is seeking volunteers to assist as BCM guides and with the varied tasks involved in preserving the rich heritage of the Moorabbin Area. CMHS thanks The Office of the Hon.
