Linda Britten is a fashion designer who graduated from RMIT in 1968. Following her graduation she worked in the design house of Noleen King and freelanced for Kenneth Pirrie. She opened a shop in Hampton, Melbourne in the mid 1970s, and then another in Chapel Street. She first used the ‘Linda Britten’ label in 1978, designing and selling ‘up-market couture and eveningwear. Later, from 1980 she was to specialise in bridal wear. In 1980, she was awarded the Australian Fashion Designer of the Year. Three quarter length peacock-blue polyester taffeta dress with black collar. Raoul Couture was a high-end fashion house based in Flinders Lane from around 1955 until 1964. Established by designer Ralph Samuel, who also owned Hartnell of Melbourne (circa late 1940s-1971), Raoul was the business's premium label. The head designer was Leonard Legge, who later worked for Prue Acton. Letter to Strongman & Crouch Solicitors regarding the formation of an auxiliary to work for additions or improvements to the clubhouse, despite the inability to register the clubhouse and recreation ground as a charity. The Association had been advised it could authorise such an auxiliary, but as the clubhouse operates under a Deed of Trust, was unsure if this was possible. This agreement between the Association for Advancement the Blind and Trustees (namely William Henry Paterson, Howard Murray Lightfoot and Arthur Malvern Yeatman) lays out the terms and conditions surrounding the Association's access and usage of the Kooyong recreation grounds and club-house. The agreement is dated 14th February 1951, and is signed by the three Trustees, as well as members of the General Committee, namely Bruce Small, W.J.S. Horsfall and Edwin Dean, as well as Secretary G. R. Fowler. A black and white slide of eight boys at a boys camp in 1956-57. They could be on billy carts or skateboards. One boy has two tennis racquets. It is possibly at Blamey House in Kew, as other slides show camps at the residence during summer holidays. Was with many other slides taken in the 1950s and 1960s. The slides have been photographed to make digital images and moved to archive quality sleeves. The Answer is a newsletter in magazine format that is sent to the widows that are helped by Melbourne Legacy. For the widows who are sight impaired a copy of the newsletter is audio described onto CD by Vision Australia and posted to them. It contains information about meetings and activities. This edition contained articles on the founder of Legacy Stan Savige, the ESO collaboration at Legacy House, ANVAM Disability Program Day, and widows having milestone birthdays. The lady in blue and white stripes is Legacy widow, Margaret Anderson who is now a legatee. The lady in red is also in many other photos and could be a staff member. Other names are not known. By 1970 questions were being asked about the future viability of the three Melbourne Legacy residences - Harelands, Stanhope and Blamey House - and a committee was established to look into the issue. Chaired by A.V. Dore, the Forecasting Committee recommended that the Residences Committee be fully involved with the decision making, and a further sub-committee be established to pursue the matters raised in the report. Photos of Junior Legatees Heather Stone and Clare Smart getting free dental check up from Dr H G Thomson at the Legacy Dental Clinic. The articles were cut from the newspaper and pasted into a scrapbook. For many years Legacy kept scrapbooks of press clippings that related to their work and publicity.
