Has a number of "Santa Claus" on the front cover. Contains an article on page 8, "Keeping tram lines clean" and "Scrubber Cars" - featuring Frank Reale-Key posing in front of Scrubber 8W. Also has a photo of scrubber No. 11. Gives a background to the cars, when they are used, operated by Civil Branch. Gives hours of use and crews. Another item is "Tram centenary celebrations a success" - Event and cavalcade of trams on 11/11/1985, celebrating the commencement of the cable car services in Melbourne. Notes the unveiling of a plaque by Mr Roper, assisted by Keith Kings of the TMSV. Model tram - B or B1, number 2002 made by The Met for their model tram at the Royal Show Melbourne c1985. Consists of: 1 - 2 x Fibreglass sections - one with a pantograph, painted in The Met colours with number 2002 with destination of "Special". Pantograph made from wire. 2 - small articulated section made from fibre glass and black vinyl, painted yellow and green. 3 - two sets of heavy duty electric motor, geared to two sets of four wheel bogies and one unmotorised bogie with a centre pins, washer and split pin that secured the articulated section of the tram. Document - St Kilda - Brighton, Victorian Railways (VR), "Rules and Regulations", June 1907
Provides the Rules and Regulations for the St Kilda - Brighton Electric Street Railway, dated June 1907. The railway opened on 5/5/1906 and to Brighton on 22/12/1906. the latter largely as a single track. Has the name F E Bradford on the front cover. Gives rules for crossing cable tram lines, those for drivers, speeds, conductors, accidents, bell signals, signals on overhead line, regulations for working by staff and ticket, pilot working, rules for workers on the permanent way, and additional rules such as collecting money from passengers for breaking windows. Functional object - Sandringham tramway - section staff, 1920s
Item used on the Victorian Railways Sandringham - Black Rock tram line for the short section of the single track of the line between the railway station in Station Street and the depot entrance in Bay Road. Tram drivers were required to carry this to prevent a head-on collision on the single-line section. Image 3 shows the driver placing the item in the "staff box" outside the depot. Image from the DVD "VR Tramways in the 1950s", with permission from Effectch the Producer. Set of two copy photographs . Photograph, Black and White of MMTB trams. Both photographs have arrows drawn on them pointing to the top of the cross bench seating windows where it appears an external running blind has been fitted. .1 - K100 - probably about 1920. Note the twin trolley poles on this single truck car when new. This car also apparently entered service with air brakes from the start. .2 - K97 - probably about 1920. Photo could have been taken in Cotham Road Kew outside the Kew Post Office? Keith has noted on both prints the in-service dates, though the MMTB had taken over around that time, both painted with "Municipal Tramways" lettering.In ink on the rear: .1 -" Melbourne K97 - probably about 1920 - In service 3.3.1920, with "Municipal Tramways" lettering though M&MTB formed 1.11.1919.
