The Ross-Ensign Ful-Vue Camera was used between 1954 and 1959. It has a flat front plate extending around the viewfinder. It's red window at the back (helps with winding film on) is closable. It has a cast alloy body and a collapsible hood around the viewfinder. This photograph is of machinery in the yard of the Gold Battery. The Baler Bucket is at the rear, the cage in the centre and the skip at the front. This is one of a series of photographs of the Rutherglen Gold Battery. The battery's purpose was to crush quartz from nearby quartz reefs and extract gold from within. The battery was erected in 1908 and consists of a five-head battery, Wilfrey table, Bergin pan, portable steam engine and shed. The battery was restored in 2011/12 and can be viewed daily between 9.00am and 5.00pm. When it was decided to replace the verandah at the Mining Exchange the large detailed piece was found in a junk yard. White cardboard mount, 35mm slide, from the Association of Railway Enthusiast's film strip titled "Provincial Tramway Film Strip" of Ballarat Trams bogie No. 35 and four single truck cars in the storage loop, or City Loop at the east end of Sturt St. No. 35 has a "Bray Raceway Trotting Friday Night" on the front of the tram. The film strip notes (Reg. Item 2560), provided the following caption details: "At the east end of Sturt St., about 200 yards from "CITY" was "CITY LOOP" - a storage facility used to hold cars for peak loadings and emergency use. -Nov.
