Third form students from Norwood High School drew up their own agenda and resolutions after attending a Ringwood City Council meeting. The school, on the corner of Loughnan and Warrandyte Roads in Ringwood was closed by the government at the end of last year. A number of councillors are believed to be bitterly opposed to the deal. Cr Nick Kirmos said spending $1.1 million is "financially irresponsible" as "the actual valuation of the site is $860,000"`

Norwood Secondary Teachers College teachers aimed to increase student awareness of the war years in several ways. The handprints of visiting Japanese student, Tomomi Honda, and year 10 student Hayley Marks, were set in a concrete block in a unique tribute to peace. A Japanese maple tree was planted beside the plaque.

He is spending three weeks with the school in Croydon, while staying with a host family in Ringwood.

Jenny has been in the ministry for 15 years, working at the Peter Macallum and Box Hill hospitals. Jenny began at Norwood in late January.
