One of a number of 'real photo' and commercial postcards created by or owned by members of the Christian and Washfold families of Kew. Landscape Gardener, Prahran. Printed by De Guchy & Leigh." An inset plan shows position of Experimental Gardens related to the City of Melbourne and Bay. Plan shows layout and plantings of the designated area - fruit, vegetables: the conservatory, nursery, exhibition buildings. This plan was owned by E.E. Pescott. Inscription on cover, "Burnley. E.E.P.." "Ed. E. Pescott." Subsequently the area was not developed in this manner. See inscription on copy made for Centenary Exhibition B92.633. Other copies given to College by N. Lothian (graduated 1934). Jim Sanders, a friend of his, gave them to Dr. G. Moore in 1991. A larger copy, inscribed on reverse, '1861', 'Early proposals for Horticultural Gardens for Horticultural Society of Victoria (now Royal). The lithograph was included as an insert in the Farmers Journal and Gardeners Chronicle 21 June, 1862. 1972 VFL Grand FinalThe 1972 Football Record represents an epic match between two of the fiercest rivals of the 1970s, Carlton & Richmond. In 1969 Richmond had defeated Carlton in the Grand Final but Carlton were able to turn the tables in 1972, Carlton recorded the highest GF score of 28.9.177 of all time to date and Richmond's losing score of 22.18.150 surpassed the previous highest score in a GF. Carlton scored 18 goals to half time. Carlton superstars Jesaulenko, Nicholls & Walls dominated Richmond kicking nearly twenty goals between them. Coach Nicholls completely changed Carlton's game style for the GF and it paid dividends.Colour Magazine

Rennie Ellis (1940–2003) was as a pivotal figure in Australian visual culture. He was both a documentary photographer and a prominent presence in advertising, television and photography. Ellis was known for his candid documentary images of contemporary Australian life. His photographs of social events, such as music festivals, fashion parades or nightclubs are iconic, but his practice also encompassed the grittier side of life. In his AFL series, Ellis skilfully portrays the nation’s passion for the game, extending his lens beyond the boundary line to showcase the spirited fans alongside the on-field action.
