Set of two instructions, both printed on foolscap duplicated paper in blue ink. .1 - "Notice to One-Man bus operators - Increase in Fares as from Sunday 27th September 1964", detailing both the ordinary and children's fares. Includes instructions regarding prepaid tickets and Gibson ticket machines that are pending the delivery of new printing wheels.. Dated 17/9/1964. .2 - "Notice to Conductors and Conductresses - - Increase in Fares as from Sunday 27th September 1964" - as above, except tickets issued in the city by the Ultimate ticket machines - how the values were to be made up. .1 - Poster - printed - as a notice to passengers, titled "Increase in Fares", dated 21/9/1964, signed R C Drummond advising of new fares from 27/9/1964 on buses and trams. Advises of concession fares for the East Brighton - City via William St via either Glenhuntly Road and Nepean Highway. Question - was this poster depot specific, given the advice of the concession fares. .2 - similar document issues for 29/8/1071, but that Scholar's Concession tickets will apply form the 1st term 1972. .3 - similar document, but printed in red ink titled "Scholars' Concession Tickets", notes fare increase of August 1971 and gives prices. Colour slide, Kodak, fawn cardboard of track laying for the new South Melbourne / St Kilda Beach terminus in Park St, for the closing of the section of track into Mary St and Beaconsfield Parade. Has an early tracked excavator, parked on the road that has been broken up. Shows new track laid on timber sleepers with former wartime Austerity buses along side the road. Black and white negative, by Wal Jack, of S 160 (St Georges Road) and W2 455 (West Preston 10) at the intersection of Barkly St and St Georges Road, North Fitzroy. The Trolley Pole is turned on S 160 for the car to return to Lygon St along Holden St. On a wall above the W2 is written "Gone to Berlin" On the corner is a Cash Grocer, advertising McAlpin's Flour, Velvet Soap. In the background is a bus stop sign and housing that has been built since the demolition and sale of the former Cable Tram depot. Black and white negative, by Wal Jack, of S160, east bound in Holden St passing the Holden St Reserve on the corner of Byrne St. The Lygon St destination is shown, which is not correct. Note the bus stop sign on the adjacent pole. Tram is fitted with a headlight mask. It is thought that one end of the tram generally would show St Georges Road and the other Lygon St. Possibly mixed up. Also see other photos of the tram on the same date.
