A mobile of red straws and six double sided coloured pictures painted by the artist Rae Matthews, a Society member as an example for visiting children to make. Pictures are of Mr and Mrs Schwerkolt, a cow, a horse, chickens and the Cottage. A copy of the original sheet that the children were given is ND1420. For many years Melbourne Legacy held Christmas parties for junior legatees - the children of deceased servicemen, often hosted by the Governor at Government House. It came from a Legacy envelope marked P7, 1966. It was an early attempt at building an archive. Item used to simulate or play being a tram conductor, about 15 tickets from each block have been used or removed. Received with a "conductors" badge and cardboard cut out coins. See items 8604 and 8605. Wording and parts of the layout on the ticket typical of a Melbourne tram ticket. Manufacturer not known or the date, possibly mid 1950's based on the cardboard coins. The donor, who lived in Melbourne, recalls that they were part of an outfit which consisted of these items, a conductors cap and bag, similar to a Melbourne conductor's bag.
