Brought to the Ovens Goldfields by Chinese men working in the area in the 19th century. Most likely made in China.Aldo Gios recorded the location of where most of the pieces in this collection were found. Some maps drawn by Aldo Gios also give more detail. This detail is rare, as most pieces of broken crockery were discarded and complete items were usually collected with no thought to recording the location they came from. Handmade three dimensional wool frame. Features a Chinese house in a winter night scene. Decorative raised parts include the frame edge, house, roof, fence, moon and stars. Each piece is bound in wool thread to create the woven effect. Colours of blue, white, brown and red. Sealed in a plastic bag. Manufacturer's label printed in Chinese on reverse.

Set of five paper cuts made at the Jinshan Peasant Academy in China. Three different designs. Cut from red paper the cuts feature designs of flowers and birds. Contained in a cardboard folder with Chinese writing and the date in black ink on the inside of back page. Hand written on front of folder is "MR WU - DIRECTOR JINSHAN PEASANT ACADEMY"
