Clothing. Navy blue wool (or polyester?) fabric. Pointed lapel collar, lined on the underside with felt. Two brass Leidertafel style badges-one either side of collar. Two rectangular shield-shaped breast pockets have rounded lower corners, and a shield-shaped flap closure, fastened with a 1.8 cm brass like plastic button. All buttons have an impressed laural wreath and horn, (suspended by a three looped cord) - a replica of British Light Infantry buttons. Three brass like plastic buttons at centre front (4th one is missing). All buttons are pinned onto the garment to enable easy removable for cleaning. Two inside breast pockets. Fully lined with blue taffeta-like fabric. On each upper sleeve, at shoulder level there is an 8 cm diameter circular cloth badge, embroidered in blue, red, and gold, displaying a Coat-of- Arms, and two shields - one blue embroidered with a bunch of grapes, and one red, embroidered with a sheaf of wheat and a sheep. These are probably symbols of the rural aspect of the town of Marong. Two lower ''pocket flaps'' are decorative, but not real pockets.Back of buttons: STOKES AUSTRALIA. Object. Dark metal hat badge, 38th Battalion Coat of Arms with a shield in the centre flanked by two rearing horses, topped by a crown. Banner above reads, ''BENDIGO REGIMENT''. Banner below, ''HONOREM CUSTODITE'' two pin loops on the back. This badge was issued between 1927 and 1936. It relates to the 38th Battalion (The Bendigo Regiment). This is a German made figurine, attributed to Jaschke Pretzl. Loosely translated, the label text on the figurine says 'Obstetrician', that the birth was happy, and that the father and child are well. Stamp printed on underside of base says that this is a hand-carved figure.Carved wooden figurine. Depicts a man in a white coat and glasses, with a receding hairline, holding a baby. He is holding the baby's legs in his left hand, and supporting the baby's back and neck with his right hand. The figure is atop a small wooden plinth, one side of which carries handwriting that reads 'Geburtshelfer/Geburt glucklich verlan fen,/Vater und Kind wohlanf!' The underside of the plinth is printed with a stamp that reads 'Handgeschnitzte/ Figur'. There is a third word at the centre of the stamp on the underside of the figurine, but it has faded and is illegible. Tile baking has long been an important industry in The Netherlands with tiles produced for walls and floors as well as at individual requests to commemorate an event or special occasion.A white ceramic tile hand painted in brown with figures of a farming couple from Brabant, a verse, a coat of arms, the words "Noord-Brabant" and various decorative designs. Slate pencils were used extensively in primary schools throughout The Netherlands.These pencils may have belonged to a child who attended school either towards the end of or post WWII when there was a scarcity of paper and books. Rectangular light green cardboard container which slides open to reveal 7 slate pencils. The lid is busily illustrated with scenes of English Victories on Sea and Land including Trafalgar and Waterloo. The upper halves of the slate pencils are covered in paper decorated with various designs.In the left margin of the picture are the words: "Designed in England". Underneath the Trafalgar scene is the quotation: "England expects that every man this day will do his duty." Under the Waterloo scene is the quotation: "Up Guards and at them!" In the right margin are the words: Copyright ENT * STAT HALL. GES.GESCHUTZT. In the centre are the words The Box enclose a crown surmounting a coat of arms which in its turn surmounts crossed slate pencils, then the words SLATE PENCILS and Made in Germany. (a) Silver-coated intricately patterned cake slide. Carvings on a floral theme are done in relief. Edges are irregular. The handle end features a female form reminiscent of a ship's figure head. The word "Italy" is engraved on the back of the slide in very tiny writing.
