Large cream, black and red certificate awarded to Mary Foster for Pianoforte Playing from the London College of Music Great Marlborough St. W. At the top is the London College of Music Coat of Arms. It was founded in 1887. Listed at the top are the Patrons, Board of Examination, Examiners and Examiners (Colonial and Foreign Centres). Certificate dated 26th May 1909. Ernest Wood, Examiner and T. Clothing - INFANT'S CHRISTENING COAT
Clothing. Infant's cream silk christening coat. High round neckline with fold over collar with rounded edges -10 cm at front dipping to 13 cm at centre back.Collar finished with scalloped edge. Yoke at front and back edge with decorative embroidery that continues along either side of full length front opening to hemline. Hemline finished with deep scalloped edge. Front skirt has 3.5 cm smocked section below the yoke. Lower sections of front skirt on each side have three embroidered cut work sun patterns (10 cm) surrounded by embroidered leaf patterns. Back skirt section gathered into yoke. Lower edge of yoke has decorative embroidery. Front opening fastened below yoke with two X 1.8 cm purlescent buttons and button holes. Object. 4.5 cms long pin from top clasp. Top clasp has brass ends, with leaf engraving. A 3 cm long panel in the centre is finished with light blue enamel, engraved with ''50 YEARS''. Clothing - MARONG MUNICIPAL BAND BLAZER, 1980's>
Clothing. Navy blue wool (or polyester?) fabric. Pointed lapel collar, lined on the underside with felt. Two brass Leidertafel style badges-one either side of collar. Two rectangular shield-shaped breast pockets have rounded lower corners, and a shield-shaped flap closure, fastened with a 1.8 cm brass like plastic button. All buttons have an impressed laural wreath and horn, (suspended by a three looped cord) - a replica of British Light Infantry buttons. Three brass like plastic buttons at centre front (4th one is missing). All buttons are pinned onto the garment to enable easy removable for cleaning. Two inside breast pockets. Fully lined with blue taffeta-like fabric. On each upper sleeve, at shoulder level there is an 8 cm diameter circular cloth badge, embroidered in blue, red, and gold, displaying a Coat-of- Arms, and two shields - one blue embroidered with a bunch of grapes, and one red, embroidered with a sheaf of wheat and a sheep. These are probably symbols of the rural aspect of the town of Marong. Two lower ''pocket flaps'' are decorative, but not real pockets.Back of buttons: STOKES AUSTRALIA. Object. Dark metal hat badge, 38th Battalion Coat of Arms with a shield in the centre flanked by two rearing horses, topped by a crown. Banner above reads, ''BENDIGO REGIMENT''. Banner below, ''HONOREM CUSTODITE'' two pin loops on the back. This badge was issued between 1927 and 1936. It relates to the 38th Battalion (The Bendigo Regiment). Sculpture - Carved wooden figurine of an obstetrician, Germany, Jaschke Pretzl, c. 1950s
This is a German made figurine, attributed to Jaschke Pretzl. Loosely translated, the label text on the figurine says 'Obstetrician', that the birth was happy, and that the father and child are well. Stamp printed on underside of base says that this is a hand-carved figure.Carved wooden figurine. Depicts a man in a white coat and glasses, with a receding hairline, holding a baby. He is holding the baby's legs in his left hand, and supporting the baby's back and neck with his right hand. The figure is atop a small wooden plinth, one side of which carries handwriting that reads 'Geburtshelfer/Geburt glucklich verlan fen,/Vater und Kind wohlanf!' The underside of the plinth is printed with a stamp that reads 'Handgeschnitzte/ Figur'. There is a third word at the centre of the stamp on the underside of the figurine, but it has faded and is illegible. Tile baking has long been an important industry in The Netherlands with tiles produced for walls and floors as well as at individual requests to commemorate an event or special occasion.A white ceramic tile hand painted in brown with figures of a farming couple from Brabant, a verse, a coat of arms, the words "Noord-Brabant" and various decorative designs. Faintly visible on the back are the ink-stamped words: "plateelbakkerij schoonhoven" (a ceramics factory in Schoonhoven).
