Carlo Gervasoni was from San Gallo, Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy, and arrived in Australia in 1863. He died of appendicitus while visiting Italy, which may be why the grave features an anchor and rope. A card recording details for the Junior Legacy Honour Roll. The Roll kept details of Junior Legatees that served in World War II. This card records the personal details of Fred Blatchford, a Junior Legatee who joined the RAAF. He died at the age of 21 in an aircraft accident at Bairnsdale in 1943, having already fought in New Guinea and the South West Pacific. Frederick Edward Blatchford was the son of Legatee Claude Blatchford who wrote the book about the history of Melbourne Legacy which was published in 1932. Claude Blatchford died in 1933 which was when Fred became a Junior Legatee. The card is an example of the information kept about junior legatees that joined the services and which were finally collated into an Honour Roll that is on display at Legacy House. In 1918 the Rev Harold Wheen presided at a meeting at Bondi and outlined the Constitution and the Ritual of the Methodist Girls' Comradeship. He suggested that members submit designs for a badge, incorporating the chosen colours (blue, white and gold) and the new name, Methodist Girls' Comradeship. The badge designed by Miss Bessie Sanger of Bondi, an ivy leaf signifying friendship, was chosen and subsequently became the badge of the Comrades Section of the Order. Richard Jennings was a native of Cambourne, in Cornwall, born c. 1831. He arrived in Victoria in 1851, returned to Cornwall and then came back to Bendigo. He was the manager of several mines in the Bendigo goldfields and retired from these posts in 1891. His home "Helston" is in Backhaus St. Long Gully.
