The plaque is dedicated in appreciation to the Port of Melbourne from the Chartered Institute of Transport (Malaysia). The plaque is made of dark blue metal sheeting, engraved with white writing. At the top centre of the plaque is the large gold-plated seal of the Charted Institute of Transport, Malaysia which is dominated by a Pegasus. The plaque is backed by a wooden board painted back, which is hinged onto a red felt case. Established in 1870, the National (renamed the Royal in 1890) Agricultural Society of Victoria, uses 'Speed the Plough' as its motto which is embossed on the medal. The engraved part of this medal reads “City of Caulfield Horticultural Display 1981, 1st Prize".Round, gold plated medal measuring 50mm in diameter with "The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria" embossed around edge, an engraved central plate with an embossed representation of a sheep above and cattle below. The engraved side of the medal has "The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria" around the edge, and the engraved part in the middle reads "CITY of CAULFIELD / HORTICULTURAL DISPLAY / 1981 / 1st Prize". This medal is one of only a few medals donated by a group of generous gentlemen as tokens of their appreciation of the talent and industry of high achieving students in the years 1869 - 1870. The medal was awarded to Charles J Henderson when he completed his Matriculation Examination at the very young age of 13 years. The 1869 College annual report states that this examination, which granted entry into Melbourne University, was held in Ballarat for the first time in 1869. Candidates had to pass in at least six of the nine possible subjects in order to pass. Charles Henderson (born 3/02/1856) was the eldest son of the Rev. William Henderson of St Anderw's Kirk, Ballarat, distinguished founder of Ballarat College. Charles was only the third student enrolled at Ballarat College in July 1864. The Ballarat College annual report 1869 states the medal was awarded in appreciation of his 'success in passing so creditably the Matriculation examination at the age of thirteen years'. This medal has historic significance because it dates from the first decade of the history of the College. It has social significance because the recipient was the third student enrolled at Ballarat College, the eldest son of the founder of the College. The medal is unique and is one of only a few privately donated between 1869-1870 by a group of gentlemen affiliated with the college.This gold-plated round-shaped medal has front embossed with Minerva head, name of school and school motto. The rear of the medal is inscribed with names of medal donors. There is a straight metal pin hinged to the right side of the rear of the medal. There is a small catch attached to left side of the rear of the medal. The side edge of the medal is inscribed with name of the recipient and title of the award. A minature, ornamental Samurai helmet made of cast iron and brass, gifted to the Port of Melbourne Authority. The helmet has wing-like projections on the front, known as Fukigaeshi, and a prominent gold plated crest, mounted on the front centre. Red and gold embellishments can also be seen around the bottom edge of the piece and on the dragons adorning the Fukigaeshi. There are six small holes around the centre of the helmet. Research shows that there may have originally been decorative fabric and tassels embellishing the piece which would have been threaded through these holes and then looped around the crest.ornament, samurai, japan

Cr. Mary Grant of Hurstbridge served as the North Riding Councillor for the Shire of Eltham. First elected in 1990 and required to retire by 1995. She was the Shire President at least 1992-1993. Source: Shire of Eltham 1993 Handbook. It is believed that this photograph was taken after Cr. Grant's term as President. EDHS Newsletter No. 216, May 2014, p4 Mayoral Chain of Office R.C. McLellan and family donated a Chain of Office to the Shire of Eltham to be worn by the Shire President on formal occasions. With the amalgamation of councils in 1994 this was transferred to the Shire of Nillumbik to be used during the mayoral year. Eltham had a Shire President whereas Nillumbik has a Mayor. Many municipalities have a collar or chain of office for ceremonial purposes. Traditionally these symbolise or denote the formal leadership role of office. This chain is part of the Visual Art Collection held by Nillumbik Shire Council and is now on display in the Council Chamber area in the Civic Centre at Greensborough. Matcham Skipper and Myra Skipper were commissioned by the McClellan family to create the gold-plated silver chain shown being worn by Eltham Shire President Peter Graham in 1990, with Bob McLellan and Matcham Skipper (centre). The Sub Branch male members began an annual day out in 2005 whereby they took travel by train to and from Gisbourne to enjoy each others company over a lunch and an ale and to while away the time.
