Made by Hans Knorr, sculptor, ex Arandora Star and Dunera. He was interned in camp 1 Tatura Group and later in POW camp 13, when status for merchant seaman changed to POW. Hans was, postwar, well known sculptor of wood and metals in Victoria.Wood turned lamp stand and material shade with electrical cord and plug attached. Stand has circular base on 3 feet and coiled central stand. Some of the content headlines or places are Orange, Tatura, Long Bay, Melbourne, South Australia. A map and 19 towns of WA, Northern Territory, New Guinea. Reg No is the translation as is the "Tatura Song" written by H. Sturzenhofecker to the melody good cheer comrades, on the horse and Mr Otto Herbst being awarded a certificate commanding of yachts. A large collection of events in regard to Camp 13. Documents include the names of 983 German POW's in Murchison August 1941 - January 1947. An interesting collection confiscated intelligence report. No 94 included 26 gall of wine, 9 drums of fruit in an advances state of fermentation, flex copper wire, clothing, petrol motor and miscellaneous cameras and wireless parts. A letter by the German Naval Commander to all families of the Kormoran crew. History of German POW's in WW2 by H. Wolf. Both in German.
