Jack Gervasoni was born in Dayledford. After a football career with Fitzroy Football Club he ran the North Kew Authorised Newsagency, at which time he was elected to the City of Kew Council. The Hygeienic Cafe was conducted by Mrs. H. Bartlett in the late 1930's. It was popular with farmers who patronised it on market days.
