The picket group formed St Patricks' Day 1987 at Graham station as the first earthworks began for closing the railway.They were confronted by police who used physical force to break the picket. In 1990 City Librarian Wendy MORRIS commissioned Pat GRAINGER to co-ordinate a State and Council funded oral history project, the final product of which was a book printed in time for the 1992 Port Melbourne Festival.
