The Michaeldene Trail is a level two loop that leads to the Taggerty River Lookout and may be undertaken as either as a Short (2.7 km) Loop, or a Long (4.3 km) Loop - 30 minutes to one hour and a half. The attractive bushland linking the Steavenson and Taggerty Rivers allows walkers and cyclists to step back in time to Marysville’s historic logging past. Sections of this mostly flat circuit follow old tramline alignments, which in places reveal the original timber sleepers on which the big logs were transported to the nearby sawmill.The Taggerty River Lookout offers views over the Taggerty River. The Trestle Bridge was built to span a small gully and provide access to the timber on Red Hill. Lady Talbot Drive is a 24 kilometer scenic rainforest car journey which passes a number of walks and waterfalls in the Yarra Ranges National Park. Cambarville is notable for its giant mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnans) trees within the Cumberland Memorial Scenic Reserve, and relics from former sawmills and gold mining. The Big Culvert is located nearby on the Marysville-Woods Point Road, which was historically part of the Yarra Track. Cambarville was established as a timber mill town in the 1940s. Timber mill owners A Cameron and FJ Barton named Cambarville. They established the mill to salvage timber from trees destroyed in the 1939 bushfires. The former bluestone Bulla Shire Hall building was constructed in 1867 and remained the centre of local government until the early 20th century when the administration was moved to Sunbury. In the 1990's the Alistair Clark Rose Garden was established in the surrounding grounds. The garden is open to the public all the year round. In 1999 the rose garden was officially opened.A coloured photograph of the side garden and the bluestone building which was the shire offices of the former Shire of Bulla. Two black and white post cards of the Olympic swimming pool in Cato lake c 1950's. The Rose Series P 14901 shows the swimming pool and lake with the swimming pool dominating the photograph. Four flag posts are clearly visible and the pool connected to the edge of the lake. The Rose Series P 14012 also shows the Olympic pool but more of the lake and boundary. with seating around the lake. In March 1957 Cato Lake was emptied for construction of the Olympic pool and officially opened on 15.11.1958. Twenty seven years later In January 1985 the pool was found to be leaking and Borough Council in February banned further use of the Olympic pool.
