Black and white photograph of VR 40 and bus No. 49, at the St Kilda Railway Station, 7/7/1957. Detailed description on the rear of the photograph in ink, particularly about the bus - one of 30 built by Commonwealth Engineering during 1949/50 for the MMTB. Surplus to needs after the conversion of Bourke St and that the seating reduced from 41 to 37 to facilitate one many operation.
