Cost of tea, milk and sugar included. On the back of each sheet there is provision for extra comments which are quite historical in nature. Rev Stuart Rea was at Central Mission, Lygon Street, Carlton from 1938-1942.G073.1 Small brown leather suitcase-style case with two lock catches and a handle. The case has a stained wood insert containing G073.2 - G073.9 eight glass communion glasses. The case is lined with navy blue grosgrain fabric and has a small leather label in the lid. Secured in the lid with leather straps is a round silver box, G073.10, with an etched lid, G073.11. G073.12 Silver cylindrical flask with an etched design on the front with G073.13 silver screw top, cork lined, lid. G073.14 Circular white lace mat in a separate section of the box. The State Electricity Commission of Victoria 1921 to 1993 was responsible for electricity generation in Victoria and the operation of three Provincial Tramways. It had a strong safety focus for the time. These certificates show the safety focus and the reporting of safety performance to employees and visitors.Demonstrates the safety record of the SEC Ballarat depot, has a strong association with the workers and Yields information about their performance and dates.Set of three Timber framed certificates, glass front, black painted side timber with brown paper or card or Masonite backing and masking tape around the edges, titled "Award of Honour - Industrial Safety", that the Tram Depot Ballarat had established a meritorious record for safe work with no lost time. Gives the period and the date of the away. Signed by the Manager - A. W. Linaker? or F. White and the Chairman of the Safety Committee "Wm K. Trusler". 12 page pamphlet printed on light grey paper with blue SEC logo and blue border on each page that has text. Titled "The Victorian State System of Electricity and Fuel Supply", with subsidiary title "Its Objectives and Progress". Dated January 1938. Produced by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Sets out the constitution and objects of Victorian State Power system, notes Act of Parliament of 1918, Yallourn, Newport B, Richmond, Ballarat and Geelong Power stations, Sugarloaf - Rubicon Hydro electric stations. Other subjects are Rural Electrification, system growth, tariffs, and financial stability, Kiewa, and future planning. Black and white photograph of a Bendigo Single Truck straight sill tramcar (were numbers 1 to 12) prior to fitting windscreens (Destination Eaglehawk page 30 - says this occurred in 1920). Tram has "Dewar's imperial whisky" roof advertisement, "Bendigo Tramways" on the letterboard, on the front dash, advertisements for "O-T+ drink additive on either side of the headlight and "Silverline Soap" on the panel either side of the bumper bar. See Reg Item 1712 for side on view of this tram. Photograph appears to be a photo of another print, with black ink "18" in the bottom left hand corner on the newer print on copy 1 of the item only. Administrative record - Factory Order Book
The item is a hard cover book recording daily work of T.J. Connolly, Ironmongers, Sandhurst. Each handwritten page records the customer orders by date, name and goods supplied. Some entries include more detailed descriptions and small drawings. The cardboard cover is green with red and brown marbling on both front and back with some wearing at the corners. "B S GOODS" is hand drawn in black on the front cover, with a paper rectangle stuck over the top on which is handwritten the type of book and dates. The pages are bound together with string. The book includes the date range of 20 August 1894 to 12 November1895. All pages have been used. This item is part of the Margaret Roberts Collection. "B S GOODS" is hand drawn in large black capital letters across the front cover, with a brown paper rectangle stuck over the top on which is handwritten "Factory Order Book From Aug 20/94 to Nov 12th 1895". Also, on the front cover there are some ink spots between the D and S and other pen marks around the G, including mathematical workings (18 +13 = 31). Financial record - Signature Book of the Kew Branch of the National Bank of Australasia
The National Bank of Australasia was formed in 1857. It began commercial operations in Queen Street, Melbourne in 1858. The Bank’s first branch in Kew opened at 87 High Street in 1885. A second building, on the corner of Walpole and Brougham Streets, designed by Inskip & Robertson, replaced the first branch in 1888. The second building remains, albeit in a somewhat altered state. In 1977, the President of the Kew Historical Society received two historic ‘Signature Books’ from the Kew branch of the National Bank of Australia.Important and unique record of names, occupations, addresses and signatures of customers of the branch. A number of signatures belong to individuals of statewide significance. Other information such as customer occupations may be unique.Ledger containing information about customers of the National Bank of Australasia's Kew Branch for the years 1894-1922. The ledger (N9457) was purchased on 9/12/85 from Sands & McDougall, Manufacturing Stationers, 46&48 Collins Street West, Melbourne. The front pages of the ledger have lines and lists of names and customer numbers. Subsequent sections are organised alphabetically by customer name. Columns on these pages include data arranged by: No. | Date | Name and Description (to be clearly written off by a member of the bank) | Signature | Initials of Bank Officer. On each page, sequential numbering extends across the years 1894-1922. Additional pieces of advice from customers are clipped through the page over the customer's signature.
