Round silver MMTB Officers and Clerical Staff badge - stamped No. "865" and with raised writing "M&M Tramways Board" with a silver ring through the top of the badge, to allow it to be attached to a key ring. Set of five components from Melbourne Cable tram saloon or trailer No. 427, from the inside or internal framing panels around a door. Made from soft wood, cut and assembled with wood screws, glued and then varnished. .1 - Small arch part or panel over the doorway with the cable tram number painted on to it "427". .2 - part or panel that fitted over the end saloon window - fitted with hinges to allow access to the saloon door slide mechanism. Has a MMTB Transfer - Cable Tramways poster glued to the surface. Internal part of this part has a light colour finish on the rear. .3 - as for .3, but without any poster. .4 - as for .3, hinged to the part of door archway component above this panel, including some screws. Set of destination indicator equipment that was fitted to Z3 and A class trams. Each item consists of various electronic parts contained within a metal case that could have been cabled together. Equipment manufactured by (Carl) C. Brose of Wuppertal Germany and maintained by Font Electronics of Melbourne - some items have the manufacturers details on them along with the details of the maintenance company and serial numbers etc. Photo .1 - shows the set of equipment as placed on display in the training room. .1 - set of two route number boxes, three individual controlled blinds, driven by a motor and control gear. Has a Fluro light fitted internally. See images .2 to .5 .2 - Small side destination indicator, with driven blind, electronic equipment with motor on the underside of the box - for use in Z class trams - see images .6 to .9 .3 - as for .2, but with motor mounted right side, used in A class trams, see images .10 to .12 .4 - set of two control panels with selection equipment for selecting the destination (by number) and route number with indicators and start button - see image .13 to 14 .5 - set of two long main rolls indicators, with control gear and Fluro light internally, driven by an internal electric motor - see images 17 and 18 .6 - set of two linking mechanism for the various boxes with large cables cut off for each of the four tram boxes. Letter to all employees, dated 5/4/1950, signed by Robert Risson, Chairman, about the strike now in its 6th week, noting it is a strike against the Arbitration Court, arguments of the Tramway Employees Association, and asking employees to consider to terminate the dispute given the length of the strike. Letter has been printed on a foolscap MMTB headed sheet with a typewriter style font and a printed signature font. Typed on a watermarked bond paper - "Satisfaca Bond". Manila folder, Wotan flat file, with built in fold back metal clips (see images 19 and 20) holding 9 plastic sheets that have been made to hold railway (Edmondson pasteboard) or tramway paper tickets. Sheet 1 - 25 No. MMTB tickets, ranging from 3d to 2/6 and two decimal conversion tickets, including 5 tickets which have been overstamped "City Section". On the rear are adverts for Blind Babies (Royal Victorian Institute for the blind), John Randle hair salon, Leighton home builders and the Promote Thomastown Committee. Sheet 2 - 25 No. MMTB tickets - decimal currency - two conversion tickets and other decimal currency tickets ranging from 6c to 25c. Included are 6 overstamped City Section tickets.
