Ephemera - Ticket, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), "Weekly Ticket 1/6d", 1940's?
... Tickets ...SECV - 1/6d Weekly Ticket - white card, with black and red printing. Headed with SEC details, punch marks for day of week on the sides, in and out directions and in the centre area of the ticket, overprinted in red, numbers 1 to 8. On rear has availability details, where it can be used, not available on Sunday and ticket number "EA341101" printed on the ticket in black ink. Has been used and possibly ex a tramcar given the condition. Note different style to that held to date (5/2005) for use in Ballarat and Bendigo. ... Tickets ...Red clothed backed paper ticket, printed as a MMTB "Scholar's Concession Ticket", for Junior First Term. Gives condition of use on the outside cover. Inside gives issue details - issued to Carol Lee of Sunshine High School, four section, issued 13/1/1956 for use to 11/5/1956, from Summerhill and Westmoreland Road Footscray to Essex St and Ballarat Road. Gives Carol's details. Ticket No. 2255. Tickets ...Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Block with five remaining tickets - brown ink on off white paper, denomination 4d, numbered V572795 - 99, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. Originally a block of 100 tickets been stapled onto an off white, partially ruled cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a off white coloured cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket price is in brown ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. On rear in brown ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern.
