William Webster was born in England in 1848. He was ordained into the Presbyterian ministry in Melbourne for Middle Darling-Wilcannia, N.S.W. in 1880. He served in Inglewood Vic. from 1884; Kerang from 1889; St. Andrew's Oakleigh from 1900. Mrs Buch was the oldest living member of St. James' Uniting Church at the time of its anniversary in September 1984. The Presbyterian church was opened in September 1859, and closed in 2009, just short of its 150th anniversary.
