It was built for Gwendoline Pitman after the death of her father Clarence Pitman and the disappearance of her sister Olive in July 1926. Very formal fashion for men in the City of Moorabbin c 1960 was a tailor made formal 'white tie' tails dinner suit with cut away jacket and pleated trousers that have a satin stripe down the outer seams There are 3 large black plastic buttons on each side of silk lined jacket and 4 small black plastic buttons on each sleeve. Special occasions, events and ceremonies were when men wore this outfit. The full outfit comprised of a white dress shirt, white starched collar, white bow tie, white waistcoat, gold pocket watch, mother of pearl or white studs and cufflinks with black leather shoes. The first meeting to form an Agricultural society in Orbost was convened by the then Orbost Progress Association and held in the Mechanics Hall on Saturday, 10th October 1891. Its first show was held on 3rd March 1904...on a site alongside the Bonang Road where the present Golf Club stands. It is currently held at the Recreation Reserve at Newmerella. This image shows unsealed roads at an intersection with loaded wagons for transporting (or recently transported). The building in the immediate background has a ghost sign which is now illegible. Part of the Reverend Chaplain Major Thomas B Williams No 556101 Collection.Set of four religious stoles in four different colours (purple, white, green and red), representing four Christian liturgical seasons. Each is constructed in a similar manner. The fabric for each is silk damask with thistle patterning and a plain fabric lining. Thomas was born in London in 1896. He arrived in Australia in 1922 with his wife Alice and baby Peggy. Thomas spent the early 1930s in Marysville as a builder, in particular on Eric Dowdle's guesthouses, and built his family a house on the Buxton road. He built The Log Cabin in the traditional way with no nails. It was built for Gwendoline Pitman after the death of her father Clarence Pitman and the disappearance of her sister Olive in July 1926. Gwendoline operated an artist and souvenir shop in the newly built Log Cabin in partnership with Peter Mackey who was a Melbourne optician and artist. Alice died in 1944 and Thomas married Irene Sutherland in 1945; they had three children. Thomas Henry Branchflower died in Mont Albert in 1970.
