8th/13th Victorian Mounted Rifles Regimental Collection

‘A’ Squadron 8/13 Victorian Mounted Rifles conducted a parade at Buna Barracks, Albury on Sunday 1 May 1988 to mark the 103rd Anniversary of the formation of the Victorian Mounted Rifles and the 40th Anniversary of the linking of the 8th (Indi), 13th (Gippsland) and 20th (Victorian Mounted Rifles) Light Horse Regiments to form the 8th/13th Victorian Mounted Rifles. Colonel G K Howard, Director of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps was the Reviewing Officer. The Pipes and Drums of the 5th/6th Battalion Royal Victorian Regiment provided the music for the occasion. Following the parade Colonel Howard officially opened the Regimental Museum.Colour photograph of Major R. Morrison and Colonel G.K. Their children were Richard, Mary, Thomas Job (died in infancy), Thomas Job, Annie, Emily, Selina, Amelia, Ada and George. Annie Vincent married Edward huggins in 1884. Their children were Edith, Robert, Ada, George, Stella, Roy, Lillian, Harold and Ronald. Vincent Avenue, Mount Helen, is named after this family.Provides a record of the descendants of Richard and Amelia Vincent who arrived from Cornwall England in 1855 and became farmers at Warrenheip. In 2000 major renovation works were carried out on the Sunbury Bendigo Rail line to accommodate new and larger carriages which were going to replace older trains. Major work at Sunbury included extending the platforms and replacing an old wooden pedestrian bridge with a larger one the included a series of ramps and a clock tower as well as a new pedestrian bridge.A non-digital coloured photograph of a series of ramps over railway tracks with a clock tower.
