The bond of friendship of the internees and officers, NCO's and particularly Lieutenant Jim Sullivan who loaded an Army truck with young internees for a trip to Rushworth and Peters ice cream. A large collection of events in regard to Camp 13. Documents include the names of 983 German POW's in Murchison August 1941 - January 1947. An interesting collection confiscated intelligence report. No 94 included 26 gall of wine, 9 drums of fruit in an advances state of fermentation, flex copper wire, clothing, petrol motor and miscellaneous cameras and wireless parts. A letter by the German Naval Commander to all families of the Kormoran crew. History of German POW's in WW2 by H. Wolf. Both in German. Map 13 B. the 21 September 1942 disturbance in D compound; report in German Sydney-Kormoran; weekly rations; dimensions of a tunnel 15 June 1942. Eric Eckstein - his story as told to a Tatura Historical Society meeting. A noted speaker Eric and Mrs Eckstein were invited and accepted to be our guest speaker. Co incidentally a member of our Society remembered the name and wandered if it was the same bloke. It was. Eric having taken the opportunity of the learned men among the Dunera people, furthered his education and qualified as a secondary teacher. Numurkah was one high school to which he was posted. an interesting account of one of the 734 who joined the ill fated Arandora Star of which 486 perished and one of the 200+ survivors who subsequently came to Australian on the Dunera. The German survivors from the Arandora Star, 244 joined the B & G class 2288 Jewish Refugees, some 2732 souls.
