.1 - Newspaper clipping from The Sun or The Courier (all ?) 10/12/1974 and 3/2/1975, reporting on the planned and then the reopening of the BTPS. Not sure which newspaper and actual date. Has one photograph of No. 26 outside the depot. .2 - Newspaper from The Courier, titled "Just like the old days", Monday Feb. 3, 1975, following the formal re-opening for the BTPS. Has four trams in the photo with Bill Stephen MLA and Dudley Erwin MP standing alongside. In December of 1939 the excavation of a diversion tunnel was commenced to divert water from the East Kiewa River to allow construction of the dam wall. This was completed in February 1940. Lewis Construction Co. had the contract with excavation starting in February and the first batch of concrete placed in September. In 1942 the S.E.C. took over the construction and the wall was completed in March, 1944. Type of construction: reinforced concrete slab buttress.Of historical importance in the Kiewa area as it shows the form work and preparation necessary before the pouring of concrete for the first dam in the hydro electric scheme. Model - Model Bendigo Birney Tram, John Eastaff, c1990
Model of a Bendigo Birney tram prior to the painting of the safety stripes by the SEC during the 1960s. Not fitted with a trolley pole. The sheet gives the story of the tram in Adelaide and Bendigo and colour schemes. The Tenshodo bogie would have enabled the tram to be motorised.
