Paper sign titled "Ballarat Tramways Alteration to Time-Table" dated 16/3/1970 that has been mounted with a Perspex front onto a manufactured wooden board with a blackened edge and secured with steel mounting clips and a hanging bracket. Used to exhibit or show a SEC timetable alteration announcement or sign that from the given date, a new timetable would apply from that date for Week days and Saturdays. Signed by F.K. White, Manager and printed by Alex King & Sons Ballarat. Original sign is understood to be slightly larger than that mounted on the object. Mounting or securing clips on rear of the object are stamped "Swiss Made PAT" and the hanging bracket "EMO Swiss". 2nd copy of poster added 1/11/2005 - stored in box 01-01-01 - relocated to package with others. 1. The Tarnagulla Presbyterian church was built in late 1863 at an estimated cost of 650 pounds plus bricks, and opened for services June 19th 1864. The first minister was Rev. Hamilton. A Sabbath School also opened at this time. The success of gold mining in the area and the resultant population fluctuations, had an impact on the church and in 1866 it was only operating on an occasional basis. It closed in the late 1870's, reopening in 1882 as a mission station. In 1912, repairs and improvements valued at 150 pounds were carried out. In 1926, when the Laanacoorie church closed, the building was transported to Tarnagulla to become the Sunday School Hall. In 1975 it became the Uniting Church. 2. The union Bank was originally a sub-branch of Melbourne and built a brick building in 1859. In 1866 the Union Bank bought the two storied building seen in the photo, from the Colonial Bank. where it remained until 1888. Two newspaper articles from the Bendigo Advertiser, one from 22/08/1953 and the other from 29/06/1950 relating to the presbyterian church and the Union Bank in Tarnagulla.
