Part of equipment issued to all soldiers on front line to be used for both serving food and drink. Belongs to Captain Brian Clerehan VX 91862 who enlisted 29/3/43 and was discharged 17/7/46 from 2nd New Guinea Infantry Batt.1. Light brown canvas carry bag for two metal bowls. Fold out piece with metal stud to open/close and metal hooks on back to attach to kit. 2. Silver metal bowl approx .6 litre capacity with metal folding handles - oval in shape. 3. Silver metal bowl approx 0.5 litre capacity with metal folding handles and oval in shape. Small folding ring attached to bottom. Smaller bowl sits inside bigger bowl sitting in canvas container.2. The plane table instrument was a simple but very effective early method of producing maps. Some very early editions were produced by the Australian Survey Corps after its formation in 1915 using this method. The photos depict post WW1 scenes.This is a cardboard covered booklet. Inside it are ten postcards of scenes of Tel Aviv. There are numerous holes stamped on the left side to enable the postcards to be torn out of the booklet and used. The photos are a low resolution black & white. Army officer's peaked cap worn on formal occasions, dark blue with red band around hat. The peak top side is finished in high gloss black leather and the hat has a similar high gloss black hat band. Worn by an officer in the Royal Australian Engineers (RAE). This hat is referred to as a 'blues' hat.Navy blue cap with red and black trimming. The hat itself is a flat cap made out of navy blue felt. around this is a red felted band, itself encircled with a black patent band and peak. This type of cap is a personal purchase for 'wearing out' and is known to sailor's as a "tiddly" hat. A military dark green painted steel container which is empty. This was a sealed container with rations for RAAF aircrew undertaking long duration flights. Khaki painted metal tin which contains rations, for use in aircraft. Printed in black on top of the detachable metal cover, which would have been taped down on top of the ring-pull lid, is; 'D^D / Made in Australia / Packed by MacROBERTSON'S / SPECIAL FLYING RATION / To be consumed by Air Crew carrying / out flights of 4 hour duration or longer. / List of contents on inside of lid / KEEP PACK INTACT / R.A.A.F / A Gadsden Container'. Donated by Frank Verco service number R62418, who enlisted in the RAN as a young man. Frank was posted to the HMAS Voyager and was on board when the ship was involved in an accident which resulted in it's sinking in February 1964. Fortunately Frank was uninjured, he was in the bow area of the ship at the time of the accident Frank and went down with that section of the ship. Frank later served on the HMAS Sydney ferrying troops to Vietnam. Small container of AUSTCAM camouflague face paint supplied by the Australian Department of Defence during the Vietnam conflict. The plastic container is Army jungle green and in the form of a small rectangular resealable container with a tight fitting lid. The container has a mirror on the inside of the lid and is divided into three sections. The face paint is coloured dark green, light olive green and brown and all are unused.
