During Angeline Koot's final year at Federation Unvisity the course was conducted online while the commnuity was in lockdown due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. The work reflects the resulting isolation, in particular the effect on the 2020 festive season which was marred with postponment and much uncertaintly due to the pandemic. The subject matter includes cones and a sock representing Christmas traditions. The small soccer plays attempt to stop the 8 ball from destroying the cone pyramid tree, while the shark, representing the chaotic events of 2020, moves to attack a fallen soccer player. The goal keeper attempt to protect the cone pyramic, and keep everything under control. There is an element of beauty in the normality of the everyday person in their natural environment. I find that the raw spontaneous moments captured in photographs tell stories and give insight into who these people are. Through portraiture, I have created a body of work that depicts small narratives of individuals in their natural environment, capturing a sense of the everyday, while hinting at an aspect of love and passion. This is the program for a University of Ballarat Performing Arts presentation of Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, in 2006, performed by third year Graduate Bachelor of Arts (Acting) students. Kim Durban initially trained as a teacher in South Australia, then as a director at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.In 1990 Kim was awarded the Ewa Czajor Memorial Award for study in Europe. She was the recipient of an Australia Council Training Artistic Directors grant , working Artisiic Associate at Playbox 1994-95. During her Masters studies she received the Yvonne Taylor Award for Directors. In 2001 , Kim was appointed Senior Lecturer in Performing Arts at the University of Ballarat where her productions have included The White Rose, Sweet Charity, 42nd Street, Chekhov in Black and White, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Night Before The Day After Tomorrow, Kiss Me Kate, All's Well That Ends Well, Richard the Third and On the Town. What was distinct about the Performing Arts Course at the University of Ballarat is it had students from a wide range of back grounds with an age range from 17 to 53 years. He performed on the University's historic Erard Grand Concert piano on stage in Founders Hall, describing it as "absolutely amazing.' The instrument was 93 years old and hadn't been played for more than eighty years. An audience of 500 were entertained with pieces by Schubert and Bach for the first half of the program and Waltzes, Mazurkas, and Polonaises by Chopin after the interval. A feature of the show is Lola's celebrated Spider Dance which was acknowledged many years ago by the crowd throwing gold nuggets onto the stage. The play 'Kiss Me Kate' tells the tale of two once married, now divorced theatre actors Fred Graham and Lilli Vanessi who are performing opposite each other in a Broadway-bound musical version of William Shakespeare's 'Taming of the Shrew'. An all-out war erupts when Lilli discovers Fred has sent her wedding bouquet to his latest fling Lois, who plays Bianca in "the Taming of the Shrew'. The show must go on so that Lois' steady boyfriend Bill (in the show as Lucentio) who has signed an IOU with Fred's name can pay back gambling money he owes to gangsters.
