Forty Eight page, side staple book within blue Rexene covers. Titled "Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways /Electric System /Instructions to Drivers in Electric Car Operation" Dated 1966. Printed by Regent Press Pty Ltd, 457 Plenty Road, Preston. Provides in a Q & A format, instructions to drivers in electric car operation, photos of various types of controllers, an A.B.C. for tramways drivers - "always" points to remember and has a reference index. Copy 1 - has telephone numbers of Training School and specific pointers re Regulations 106 and 107 and some of the Q&A have been circled in blue. This copy was imaged. The May 1974 instructions of "Tram car Braking on Greasy Rails", has adhesive tape remnants. Copy 2 - 1/5/1975 instructions loose inside the book. Copy 3 - added 29/5/2014 from the collection of R. Wearne. Copy 4 - added 15-6-2015 - from Ron Scholten donation of 11-4-2015. Copy 5 - added 14-12-2015 from donation of Norm Cross 11-10-2009. Had the instructions for Tram car braking on Greasy Rails appended inside front cover - loose, with adhesive tape remnants. Photograph of a truck of firewood delivering wood for Operation Firewood, where firewood was delivered to widows. From a black and white photo (00765) taken that day the men standing on the truck are Legatee Ken Markey from Cobram/Yarrawonga and Legatee Jack Gunn from Melbourne. Legacy provided this service for many years, with the help of Linfox who provided the trucks. In the June 1995 edition of The Answer Melbourne Legacy thanked the Cobram/Yarrawonga Group for their help in supplying and cutting the wood. It is assumed to be 1999 as it was with a bunch of other photos with the label, "Legacy House 2nd Floor 1999". Names unknown. In The Answer in 1995 an articles says: "Operation Rosemary. Since 1982 Legacy ladies have volunteered to make rosemary sprigs for the Anzac Day marchers. At a later date they also made sprigs for the Schools Shrine Service. . . don't worry, there are ladies here to show you how to make them and it's a chance to have a chat and cuppa whilst you work together. In November 2001 Australian SAS troops joined the war in Afghanistan under the operation name "Operation Slipper." The decorative elements of this carpet/rug symbolises Australia's commitment to Operation Catalyst - a post-invasion operation dedicated to the stabilization, rehabilitation and reconstruction of Iraq CATALYST began on the 20th of March 2003 and defined the role of the Australian Defence Force in assisting multinational forces in the stabilization and security of Iraq. It also involved ADF support in the implementation of the country’s recovery programs. Operation Okra was an Australian Defence Force contribution to the Military intervention against Islamic State. It was part of Joint Task Force 633 in the Middle East. Its initial stated aim was to Combat ISIL (ISIS) threat in Iraq. A truck operated by G.W. Glenn Road Transport Pty Ltd of Moama, NSW was transporting a load of sleepers and wood posts along Henley Road, Kangaroo Ground. As a result of signioficantly wet conditions, the truck became disabled when the trailer slipped off the verge of the unsealed muddy road whilst negotiating a hairpin bend. A truck operated by G.W. Glenn Road Transport Pty Ltd of Moama, NSW was transporting a load of sleepers and wood posts along Henley Road, Kangaroo Ground. As a result of signioficantly wet conditions, the truck became disabled when the trailer slipped off the verge of the unsealed muddy road whilst negotiating a hairpin bend.
