Set of six documents associated with a Wattle Park band recital by the AIF Legion of Anzacs band on Sunday 17 October 1943 in support of the 4th Liberty Loan. .1 - printed poster advertising the afternoon and travel by tram from Princes Bridge. .2 - duplicated notice from the Assistant Manager to Depots dated 13/10/1943 about the bus to be used to transport band members from Elizabeth St to Wattle Park - Central Bus Depot - notes the bus had been specially prepared for the event. .3 - typed notice from the District Traffic Superintendent to Hawthorn and Camberwell depots about special trams for the event and arrangements for conductors. 1099.1 - photocopy of an article in The Courier, Ballarat Tuesday Feb. 9 1988, page 17 of the house that contained Ballarat ESCo tram No. 12 in the Tuesday Heritage Column of the newspaper. Contains a photograph of the house containing the tramcar. Newspaper Clipping details the former occupiers, the Rayner family, the construction of the extensions around the tramcar, family use, family history and some details of the family members and other local history. The copy of the newspaper Clipping has numerous pin holes in the corner and the rust marks due to use on a display on Tram No. 12 in a display board in the depot from about 1991 to 1998. Black and white photograph of 2 trams at Preston Workshops c1948 First tram 500 is a W2 class tram built by MMTB at Preston Workshops in 1928. It entered service 27/4/1928 and was withdrawn from service and sold in 1981. The tram's destination is shown as "Special". The tram has been fitted "T" lettered taillights. The second tram, 198, is a Q1 class single truck straight-sill combination tram built by the MMTB at Holden St Workshops. It entered service in 1923 and was reclassified as a Q class tram. It was converted to all night service in 1937 and operated until 1957.
