As result of council work it has been necessary to remove the 900 mm water main, excavate lower and replace the water main. In the first photo Ganger one operator Mr. Allen Parker at work on the main trunk water feed while Mr. Paul Somerville operated the rock breaker and Mr. Max Welsford operated the angle grinder. At each end is a five point star in gold zardozi work in sequins and metallic thread with central couched button. Above the stars on the LHS is couched zardozi work initial G and on RHS couched zardozi work initial M and above these are two identical five point stars as lower ones with the addition to each of two metallic thread tassles. At the bottom centre of the collar are two small rings. Anzac Day led by 108 year old Jack Lockett who recieved the 80th Anniversary medal at the service on behalf of the Prime Minister, guest speaker was Dick Levy RAAF. The work of the Central Victorian Veterans Support Centre (C.V.V.S.C) in gaining Pensions and Welfare for Ex Service personal. The success of the first Sandakan service held in Crook street on March 7th at the Memorial erected there, guest Speaker being Bruce Ruxton State President. Museum report.
