Programme and menu for Melbourne Legacy's 61st Annual Dinner on Saturday, 2nd March, 1985. Dinner was held at the Heidelberg Civic Centre. Event included President's Report and Installation of Legatee T. C. Bannister as Melbourne Legacy President for 1985. Each year Melbourne Legacy would have an Annual Dinner for the installation of the incoming President (Changeover dinner). It is one of the most important events of the year. Up until 2005 each President served for one year. Whilst the rules of the Club nominate one year terms, since 2005 Presidents have been renominated to serve for a second year. Melbourne Legacy is regarded as the mother Club and these functions drew Legatees from many clubs within the Legacy Family.Record of annual president's installation event including information on principal guests. These golf shoes belonged to Thomas Conway of Wodonga. He was an actives sportsman in the Wodonga community. He wore them when playing golf in Wodonga and surrounding district. Thomas was a son of Michael and Catherine Conway of Wodonga. He passed away in 2005. This item was donated by one of his sisters.These golf shoes belonged to a well-known member of the Wodonga community.A pair of black golf shoes. The shoes have a leather upper and composition soles. They are also fitted with a special golf spike in the sole to give improved grip. There are 7 spikes on the bottom of the front section of each shoe and 4 on each heel. One of two products of a 2005 project (which subsequently won the 2007 Victorian Local History Awards for research). An interactive CD containing information and photographs. Map - Bogong High Plains - Grazing Runs, Grazing Run Boundaries 1960 - Soil Conservation Authority
Cattle grazing on the Bogong High Plains during summer commenced in the 1840s and continued for many years. The Soil Conservation Authority recorded each family's area boundaries which were updated in June 1972 and continued to be adjusted until cattle were banned in 2005. The tradition of cattle grazing continues to be controversial.Holders of grazing rights for grazing on the Bogong High Plains were allocated specific areas recorded by the Soil Conservation Authority in 1972. Cattle have been banned in the Alpine National Park due to their impact on the environment.White paper with brown print. in 1922 Kergunyah Park homestead was built by David Wallace in the late 1800's and remained in the family until the sale in 1922 when it was bought by John Woodside (grandfather of Ewen Wallace) whose family retained it until 1938. Another family named Wallace bought the property in 1938 and this family's descendants are still running it in 2005.David and Henrietta Wallace purchased the original holding and built Kergunyah Park homestead in the late 1800's running cattle on the property. They arrived in Australia in 1867 with their 3 children and were early settlers in the district. Their descendants still live in the district. Their family demonstrates how properties were passed on to the next generation.
