Prize awarded to Raymond Percival Thomas Oxlade, Dux of Remove Upper 1932. Raymond entered Ballarat College 1932. Raymond was born 24 June 1917 at Ballarat, the son of Percy Alfred and Ruby Evelyn (Davies) Oxlade. He enlisted in the Australian Armed Forces in 1940. He transferred to the RAAF in 1942 and was discharged 1946. His was buried in the Ballarat Old Cemetery. The book has been translated from the French and from the fourth German edition. The minutes record the dates, locations and attendance of the meetings. The book also contains a number of documents, such as a resignation letter, newspaper clippings and the Programme of Meeting from the Victoria Mission to Seafarers Annual Meeting for 1934. The minutes also record the organisations reaction to the declaration of the Second World War.This is a record of all the member, meeting and activities of the Ladies Harbour Lights Guild between 1923 to 1940. Presented to the Ballarat College in 1945 by Miss Shaw. Miss Shaw was Principal of the Clarendon Presbyterian Ladies College 1927 - 1934. She left to take up the principalship of the Presbyterian Girls' College at Glen Osmond South Australia. Miss Shaw later returned as Principal of her former school at geelong, where her outstanding controbution to education in Victoria was recognised by the award of the Order of the British Empire. Example of ongoing commmunity support of the school. The Weatherly Library was opened in 1936 and its collection significantly established by donation or bequest of old collegians and members of the college community and associates.Dark blue cloth covered book with gold lettering on spine.
