Eric Boardman continued to print the Sunbury News after the death of his father, Arthur, and until the newspaper was taken over by The Regional Group in 1965. In 1929 Eric Boardman took over the management of the Sunbury News in partnership with Harold Sparrow. The two men printed the Gisborne Gazette, the Lancefield Mercury as well as the Sunbury paper until 1956 when Mr. Sparrow withdrew from the partnership. The Macedon Street Bridge over Jacksons Creek is important because it was built on one of Victoria's first important roads. Woodlands Homestead was erected by William Greene in 1843 and is one of the state's oldest buildings. Over the years the complex has been renovated and extended. The property has connections with the racing industry over the years along with the neighbouring properties of 'Cumberland' and 'Attwood'. Sunbury Secondary College was established in 1959 and was built on the site of the former rabbit canning factory on the corner of Riddell and Racecourse Roads. Lochton Flour Mill was established in the 1850s and is only one of a few surviving mills in Victoria. 'Glenara' is situated along the Deep Creek at Bulla and was built on an original government grant of land by Walter Clark. His fourth child, Alistair, spent much of his life there and with the help of his gardener, W.Peers, gained world recognition for introducing 150 new rose species which included the Black Boy and Lorraine Lee. In the 1970s extensive renovation work and repairs were done to the 'Lodge' at Rupertswood.
