Gwen Horman was a prominent figure in Ringwood History. Her husband , Robert, was the Mayor of the Ringwood Borough in 1954 and again in 1961 and played a large part in the move for Ringwood to become a city. Gwen was a foundation member and President of the Ringwood East Infant Welfare Centre, helped fund raise for the Maroondah Hospital and was a founding member of the Ringwood East CWA in 1949. She traveled extensively and there are many diary notes of these trips included in the history.Transparent front cover and buff coloured back cover, black spiral binding contains 38 pages of printed notes and photos, some hand written amendments. Edward Stone Parker was the protector of Aborigines at the Mount Franklin Aboriginal Protectorate.Mary Cook Parker (Cooke) and Edward Stone Parker Gravestone at Franklinford Cemetery. Mary Parker died on 11 Oct 1842, aged 35 years. Edward Stone Parker was born in 1802 and died on 25 April 1865. "Sacred to the memory of Edward Stone Parker, Protector of Aborigines. A pioneer of 1838. Died 25th April 1865. Aged 63 years. Als his first wife Mary Cooke Parker. Died 11th Oct 1842. Aged 35 years. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord." On 21 November 1959 yet another special train was run, this time on a G41 engine showing the sign "Puffing Billy Preservation Society, Beech Forest, 25-11-59", with eight NBH excursion carriages and a guard's van. The train stopped at Beech Forest where people removed themselves and wandered around the station. Mixed goods wagons loaded with wood and louvred van rest in the background. Note the delta or 'scissors' crossover between lines in the centre of the picture.B/W. The re-drafting of the constitution set out by the British Mission to Seamen coincides with the centenary of establishment of the 1856 Mission in London. This pamphlet appears to have been received by someone who was offered a Life membership in 1957.6 pages of text pamphlet outlining a brief history and outcome of a Special meeting of members at Buckingham Palace gardens 16th May 1956, that is a redesigned Constitution of the Mission to Seamen.
