It is the Legacy run Anzac Commemoration for Students that is held just prior to Anzac day for school students to attend. Legacy has run the student ceremony annually and it is well attended. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day. The last train ran to Beech Forest on 30 June 1962. It had a particularly motley look: 180 passengers were loaded into a series of NU goods wagons hastily fitted with temporary seats and, given the time of year, tarpaulin covers. The G42 locomotive had patched-up repairs and cannibalised G41 parts. Intending travellers faced up to the trip with some trepidation but the train made it with no problems. On this cold, gloomy day when it got back to Colac it signalled the end of narrow gauge operations in the Otway Ranges.B/W. The certificate was found under floor lino (75 Carpenter Street, Bendigo) in a house built in 1938, now lived in by Helen Attrill, the donor.

This is undated. They are still using .303 rifle: Dated 1970- 1962 original.This is a two sided copy of an original 38 Bn camp document. This copy is a yellow colour with black ink. This copy shows layout of tent, equipment and webbing. the drawing shows 8 men to a tent. Of interest is that item one a paillasse. The original had a light red stain in centre.
