Metal gift box or tin, contained within a black card cover with Yarra Trams name on the outside. The Gift box or tin, with lid, has the words "Celebrating our first year together", with the Keolis Downer EDI Rail logo and Yarra Trams logo. The box contains a silver coloured metal torch, with LED bulbs fitted with a cotton hand strap. Three AAA size batteries by Ninghai Hengjui Battery Co. contained within the dark grey foam holder. This item was produced by a Melbourne Tea, Coffee and Cocoa Merchant importers(1898-1960). It was a time when local production of, coffee had yet not begun. Imports from India and the Asian region had dominance in the market place. The blending of coffee with chicory was a cheaper method of providing a flavour enriched drink which was marketed as "containing not less than 55 parts per cent by weight of coffee" The coffee weighed heavier than the chicory. This was a time before strict accurate consumer information/content became mandatory and legally enforceable.This empty container of "Sunbeam" Coffee and Chicory finely ground "instant - just add boiling water" beverage was the start of the "fast" breakfast drink. The use of grinding the coffee beans and percolation to obtain the final drink was at the start of the rural sector's decreasing the time for casual drinking. The once casual countryside psyche was now (mid to late 1900's) becoming more "on the go".This cylindrical container (coffee and chicory) is constructed from pressed cardboard with both ends enclosed by tin(pressed) lid and bottom. The outside wrapping is promotional and descriptive in the colours of purple background and information label areas with purple lettering on a white and silver background. Importance of religion in the Yendon community is evidenced by the two churches. This is the weatherboard building of the catholic church and there was also a brick Anglican Church. Both these buildings were eventually removed when congregations declined as the community declined in the twentieth century.The catholic church was looking a bit delapidated in this photo taken just before it was demolished. The Bendigo based Sander family business Sander and Sons, were producers of eucalyptus oil/extract in the 19th and 20th centuries. Carl Sandner established Sander and Sons Eucalyptus Distillery in 1875. It operated until 1967Instructions included in a box of Superba Skin Food. One page with black printing included claims made after use of product and directions for use. Notes that an application for Registration of the distinctive label was made on January 18 1907. Back to Port Melbourne celebrations were an early type of Port Melbourne Festival.One of two festival badges from 1932 : tin, white, printed in brown: "Back to Port Melbourne - Admit to Gymkhana on Station Pier - Afternoon & Evening - Mayor's Appeal", identical except for date: one April 7th", this one May 7th". Crib Pail owned by John Tom Clifton. His mother Frances Clifton re-married after his death to Thomas Harvey and it was held by the Harvey family It was loaned by Leonard Harvey to the organisers of the Great Australasia Mining Disaster Centenary Committee 1982 but then presented by his family to the museum in his memory.It is the only known article from the New Australasian No.2 Gold Mining Disaster. It was reported that three were removed from the mine at the time of the disaster. The Bellingham Billy rusted when left in a shed. Manley's was believed to have been lostThe round crib pail is made of tin and is badly rusted. A crib pail was used by miners to carry their food down the mines. The lid is missing. This pail was taken down the mine by John Tom Clifton and he wrote a message on it before he died in the New Australasian No.2 Gold Mining Disaster 1882. The history of metal packaging began in Bohemia in the 1200s. Metal has been produced for a very long time. But the first metal used for packaging was tin. In particular, it was the process of tin plating that was invented in Bohemia. Before this no other metal was economically able to be used for packaging. Later, in 1667 Andrew Yarranton, and English engineer, and Ambrose Crowley brought the method to England. Here it was improved by ironmasters including Philip Foley. Then by 1697, John Hanbury had a rolling mill at Pontypool in South Wales. The method they developed involved rolling iron plates using cylinders. The Decanter set was originally given to Dr John Paull by Dr Geoffrey Kaye and were later donated to the College by Paull . The decanter label, coaster and tray were crafted by Geoffrey Kaye and includes his initials inscribed into each piece. "LEY" Pewter refers to the pewter containing a large percentage of lead which in this case there is 80% tin and 20% lead.Glass decanter of cylindrical form with glass stopper and a pewter label which hangs over the decanter. The family of Mrs Nancy Maggs were early settlers in Moorabbin ShireCirca 1940/1950. Child's small tin-plate toy sewing machine. The body of the sewing machine is painted black with red and gold floral decoration - some loss of paintwork. The flywheel is cast, with a wooden handle. Some workings are made of steel. Collection of unidentified and undated slides in tin with the "Our City of Many Faces" project slides (See VC11214). These appear to be various slides taken by members as exercises but no identification written on the slide holders. The slides were digitised by RDHS in 2023, and jpg's loaded to this record. The original slides were disposed as they had started to deteriorate.

The Uebergang family lived at Tooram Park, Allansford from 1912 until 1992. The projector is part of a collection of toys given into the care of Cheese World Museum.Tin toy projector mounted on a wooden base. A box shape with a lens on the front has a removable lid with a fluted edge. In front of this is the film holder which has a carrier for the film, a winding mechanism, and a protruding lens at the front. This projector was lit by a candle inserted in the body. Fly killer liquid was used in manually operated sprays to kill insects in the home.
