Rev. Alistair Macrae, born 1950. Macrae was ordained in 1984 and served in rural, regional and inner city congregations in Victoria, at Mt Beauty, Portland and West Brunswick. He served as Moderator of the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania (2000–2003) and as Executive Director of the Uniting Church Centre for Theology and Ministry (2004–2009) in that synod. He was a member of the board of Wesley Mission Melbourne and chaired its social policy committee. Macrae was an inaugural member of the Victorian State Government's Community Support Fund and served on the advisory committee of the Community Alcohol Action network of the Australian Drug Foundation. Macrae became President of the UCA in July 2009, at the 12th Assembly. In September 2013 Macrae commenced as Minister of Wesley Uniting Church, Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. Two viaduct bridges were constructed across the Jacksons Creek valley at Rupertswood on the Bendigo rail line to bring the trains down the steep incline into Sunbury station.A photograph of the railway viaduct bridge showing one end of the span and 4 of the pylons. As Sunbury grew from a country town to an outer suburb the town centre and shopping centre expanded along Evans and O'Shanassy Streets. The series of five photographs feature various stages of the demolition of a double fronted brick Victorian cottage which was on the east side of Evans Street opposite the railway line and local football ground. The Millbrook ruins are on a property which was created by John Pascoe Fawkner's Victoria Co-operative Freehold Land Investment Society. The aims of the company were to provide smallholdings to poorer settlers who wanted to farm. Canon Gully is situated about 2 km upstream from the railway bridge at Rupertswood. In 1864 it was the site for the military encampment of the Victorian Volunteer Forces. William Clarke allowed the military to stage the annual event on his property. The bluestone house 'Amelia' was built in 1914/1915 and has included a combination of Victorian and Federation styles. Andrew Patterson the first owner lived there for over 40 years. The weatherboard house is one of the six weatherboard cottages which were built on the east side of O'Shanassy Street in the early 1900s. It has been listed in the Heritage Study in 1998. 'Glenara' is situated along the Deep Creek at Bulla and was built on an original government grant of land by Walter Clark. His fourth child, Alistair, spent much of his life there and with the help of his gardener, W.Peers, gained world recognition for introducing 150 new rose species which included the Black Boy and Lorraine Lee. The mounted photograph is one of a series used for display purposes. The water tower at Sunbury Station was built in 1861 by J. Bett. it is of state significance and is an indicator of the importance of the railway to Sunbury's expansion in the Nineteenth Century. Steam trains needed sufficient steam power to climb the steep gradients over the Great Dividing Range and the water tower at Sunbury was used to replenish the trains' water supply for the remainder of the journey.A black and white photograph of the water tower at Sunbury Railway Station. This item produced to commemorate the centenary of the Rupertswood Battery from 30 December 1884 to 30 December 1984.A square bucket-shaped liqueur glass with a stem that tapers to a round base. Victorian Railways uniform jacket in navy blue woollen cloth. It has straight sleeves, a standing collar with brown piping and rounded fronts. There are two set- in pockets on the fronts and a breast pocket in the right front lining. The body is lined with a glazed black twill and the sleeves with cream cotton with a longitudinal brown pinstripe. The three pockets are lined with heavy tan twill. There are five metal buttons embossed with a crown and "VR". There is a black cotton tape loop inside the collar.In the breast pocket, in purple ink the initials "GL" or "GI".
