Four page (two sheets of A4 - double sided) on gold paper, printed as a Tour Booking form for a tour of Melbourne tram lines, titled "W3 661 Tram tour - Melbourne Revisited" for 27/5/1989. The tram was on loan at the time to "Yappa Tours" from the BTPS. See first and second paragraphs for details of the tram being in Melbourne. Also contained on pages 1 and 2 are notes on W3 class trams, their history and dispersal. Pages 2, 3 and 4 give details of the tour and the booking form. Tour operated by the Rail Tourist Association. Tour booking officer was Geoff Cargeeg. Printed using a typed wax stencil and then duplicated. Thirty two page landscape booklet on semi gloss white paper with off white cover and single supplementary white sheet tipped onto the inside of the front cover titled "See Melbourne's Beautiful Beaches and Garden Suburbs from a Special Bus". Saddle stapled, printed letterpress. Text printed in black and green ink. Cover green ink only. The book advertising MMTB's Special tourist bus, giving overall tour details on page 1, including fares, time of departures and reservations. Each tour has a map showing the route, details of the tour route with notes and photographs. Page 14 shows a maximum traction tram on the reserved track in Dandenong road and page 30, W2 488 outbound in Victoria Parade. Page 32 has an advertisement for the Round Trip by Tram 1/-. Front cover has details of the departure times and fares and a photo of the Tourist Bus. Denmead) as a Transport Official during the period of the 1956 Olympic Games. States that bearer not entitled to entrance to spectator areas, that the bearer will wear a "Red and White arm band" and that the person has authority to give directions on behalf of the Olympic Transport Committee. Has form number CR3. Date of printing given in bottom left hand corner as 12.43. Issued to "Denmead Leslie James 133 Glenlyon Rd. Bwick" (Brunswick) in Sept. 1945. Issued at No. 1 P.D. Two pieces of heavy brown leather about 4mm thick joined together with a lighter piece of brown leather glued and stitched with heavy thread to form a Trip Way Bill Holder for use on the SEC trams by Conductors. The outside of the folder has been tanned to give a dark brown tan. The inside of the folder has been stained light brown. The outer corners of the folder have been rounded. The folder has been scribed by a tool to give the item some presentation. Not known who made it, could have been SEC Depot Ballarat, upholstery workers.On the inside in the top left hand corner "Trip Way Bill Holder" in blue ink. Dark green cloth enveloping two pieces of cardboard, joined together with the cloth, printed on the outside with the MMTB logo and the words "Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board / EMPLOYEE'S PASS / 1947". On the inside, two pre printed pieces of off white paper have been glued to the cloth covered cards. The top card has been over stamped using a hand stamp machine with the Number "8478" and overprinted in purple ink " ' 47". Space for the name of the employee, occupation and for authorising signature of the Board Secretary has been provided. The bottom section details the conditions of use and space for the employees signature. Ticket issued to "L. J. Denmead", "Inspector" and signed by "R.A. Spencer"? as Board Secretary and signed by "Leslie Denmead". All entries made in black ink. These passes would have been issued as part of the conditions of employment.
