This paper which is a supplement to the Warrnambool Standard presents events and information regarding the Acme Field Days. The Acme Field Days are held each year at Allansford beginning in 1982 and continuing to the present day. Exhibitors and companies from all over the state display their wares at the field days and the three day event usually attracts large numbers of visitors, many of whom come from the agricultural industries. This is one of the very few surviving pieces of correspondence between Bob and his wife, Madge. Bob destroyed the bulk of such correspondence between the pair, although some of Bob's typed letter/stories that Bob sent to Madge survived, pasted into a large hard-backed journal, and later passed on to grand-daughter, Margaret Davey. The Registry Office marriage was a secret business. Perhaps an Irish nationalist, Madge's father, Andrew McLaughlin, had absolutely forbidden any of his daughters to marry a soldier. The Snapes were taken by surprise too and Madge wore the wedding ring on a string about her neck. Directions for Use - Take the folded ends of the bandage in each hand, and, keeping the bandage taut, apply the gauze pad to the wound and fix the bandage. one dressing to be used for each wound. In each case of head wounds when respirators have to be worn, care should be taken to adjust the pad so that it does not interfere with the fit of the facepiece.
