Port of Portland Authority Believed to be one of the items transferred to City of Portland from Port of Portland Authority late in 1997. There is no apparent evidence that this item has formally come under the responsibility of Glenelg Shire Council, although through practice, and community expectation, Glenelg Shire Council has assumed responsibility for its care and maintenance. Woven by The Portland Fibre Group, proposed for installation in the foyer of the Glenelg Shire Council Offices, opposite the entry to the Council Chambers.Tapestry woven in wool on twine warp. Cream coloured background with pale blue flecks of colour, central motif of coat of arms features two birds standing on grey platforms, either side of shield. Central to the shield is a masted sailing vessel sitting atop blue and white horizontal lines representing the ocean. Around the sails of the vessel are radiating yellow rays and a blue surrounds representing sunburst against blue sky. The top third of the shield shows a pair of sheep heads against a red background. Above the shield is depicted a helmet, crowned with a whale. Blue plumage is shown coming from the helmet and framing the whale.

Drik Drik is a small town located in the Glenelg Shire. The former Methodist Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1885 and the congregation served by ministers and preachers from Portland and Heywood. Purchased by Glenelg Shire from Kurtze's Museum. The Casino commenced West Coast Trade in 1882 after being purchased by the Belfast and Koroit Steam Navigation Co. The Casino came to an end in 10.7.1932 when it rolled over and sank at Apollo Bay. Casino built at Dundee Scotland 425 reg. tons.Life buoy, circular ring, canvas covered cork, rope loop fixed to 4 points on the outside edge. The 2000 Summer Olympics was held in Sydney, Australia. The torch relay was the transferral of the Olympic Flame to Sydney, Australia and this was also part of the build up to the Games. The torch travelled to several island nations in Oceania before beginning an extensive journey around Australia. The role of Town Crier was created for Syd Cuffe in 1983 in the lead up to Portland’s 150th anniversary celebrations held in 1984-85. 200 items were presented to the Glenelg Shire Council Cultural Collection from Mr. Cuffe’s estate.
