Cloth badge for sewing onto a jacket featuring a printed image of Ballarat Vintage Tramway No. 26 on a green and white background with a sewn red border. The badge has been backed onto a piece of stiff cloth and the red sewn border edge secured with a piece of adhesive tape. Produced by K. F. Williams of Hoddle St. Richmond in Dec. 1991 and advertised as being available for sale at the depot in Jan 1992 issue of Fares Please! Functional Object - Brass Plate/s, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), 1931
Set of two brass manufacturing / data plates from the BTM Isolating transformer that failed Oct. 2004 and sent to ABB's Yarraville Workshop for assessment. Recovered from the transformer by ABB staff following inspection. Plates detail Manufacturer (State Electricity Commission of Victoria), ratings, connection diagrams, windings and date of manufacture (1931). These plates did not reflect the re-winding characteristics, but its original manufacturer. Transformer No. 1267. Each plate has four corner holes. Transformer acquired by the BTPS 1973 for re-winding from the SEC. See Reg. VHS cassette and cardboard slip cover or box and labels on cassette and VHS tape. Made by Mr. P. Wilson of the United Kingdom during his visit during the winter of 1994 and a copy subsequently sent to the Museum in 1995. Part 1 - features a visit to the AETM St. Kilda Museum, including a trip to the beach and return in Ballarat 21 - 40 mins, an 8 minute trip on the Glenelg line, a visit to the Myer store - toy train and monorail (but not running), then a 10 min long session of a visit to Christchurch NZ. Part 2 - features a visit to Ballarat (28 mins. running time), featuring a trip on 14 with Dave O'Neil, and visit to the depot in particular 27, 1, 12 and 661 and video of the Tower truck at work. The final section is a visit to SPER at Loftus, including a trip to the National Park with 1971 and shots of Ballarat No. 12 on display. Thirty six page (A4) plus 10 folded A3 pages report with clear plastic cover, card rear cover and bound using a white comb binder, featuring a black and white photograph of BTM No. 33 on front cover. Report looks at background, geometric criteria, depot location, alignment proposals, the BTM, existing tramcars, availability and sources of materials, tramcar requirements, operational equipment and has an Appendix.
