From 1903, Miss Florrie Wymond operated a girls school at the property, and a timber schoolroom building was constructed at the rear of the property. During the 1930s, the school was known as the Clarence Primary School, and operated by Misses F L and M Wymond. While the listing of the property as a primary school had ceased by 1947, the Wymond family owned the property until the mid 1960s. A large gum tree, which was growing ing the Village Green was shedding its branches and as it was growing in a public area and in front of a kindergarten the tree was felled as it was dying. From its part-time inception in a leased hall, the Committee of the Bundoora Free Kindergarten worked toward obtaining its own premises and expanding the hours of the kinder in order to serve a growing population.
