The Tilly Aston Heritage collection is named after a trail blazing woman whose work and leadership helped improve the limitations people who were blind or had low vision experienced in the early twentieth century. The Braille Book of the Year awards were first established by the Braille and Talking Book Library in 1974, as a way of recognising excellence in Braille production. In 1990 the first Narrator of the Year was awarded, then followed by the Audio Book of the Year in 1991. With the merger with the AFB, then the name change to Vision Australia Foundation, these awards were rechristened the Vision Australia Foundation awards. In 2005, another merger took place and the decision was made to only continue the original award, due to both limited funds and the development of the commercial audio book industry and thus commercial audio awards. On November 25, 2005, a time capsule was buried at Vision Australia's head office in Kooyong. As part of the contents, these interviews were put on CD and placed inside the capsule. The capsule is designated to be opened in 2066, to celebrate 200 years of providing services to people who are blind or vision impaired. Marjorie West interviews Keith Glover, a broadcaster with 3LO, ABC, Radio Australia and RPH. He speaks of his early life in Sydney and his passion for radio, slightly delayed with his father insisting that he obtain a tertiary education beforehand. War interrupted this plan, and he joined the Army and became a 2 man act with Happy Hammond, as part of the Entertainment Unit which was part of the platoon. After service in PNG, he returned home to a contract with the ABC in Queensland later joined by his wife Gwyneth. In 1955, the family moved to Melbourne and he was chosen to be one the announcers for the Melbourne Olympic Games. A small stint as a newsreader for the ABC, a compere for the ABC dance band on Songs that Sold a Million, a televised version of a Glee club, Kindergarten of the Year radio show with Ann Dryer, the popular Mailbag program which generated hundreds of letters each week, and talking magazine narrator are among the many and varied jobs he did during his career.
