Tool - Fret Saw
Fret saws like this were commonly used in fine woodworking, cabinetry, and musical instrument making during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Their thin, delicate blades made them ideal for cutting detailed patterns, scrollwork, and decorative inlays. This saw’s wooden frame and tensioning mechanism suggest it was an early design, as modern versions transitioned to all-metal frames. Fret Saw formerly owned by Mr JENDE of Jeparit. The item is a vintage fret saw, a manually operated woodworking tool used for cutting intricate shapes and curves in wood, metal, or other materials. The saw features a rectangular wooden frame with curved side arms, designed to maintain tension on the thin, fine-toothed metal blade. The blade is held taut between two adjustable metal fittings at the bottom of the frame. The two wooden handles, one at each end, allow for control and tension adjustment. The saw shows signs of age, with wear on the wooden frame and some oxidation on the metal components.fret saw, cutting tool, tool, farm equipment -

Before modern power tools, these hand planes were essential for precise joinery work in furniture making, cabinetry, and timber construction. The adjustable wooden rods allowed craftsmen to control the cutting width, making it a versatile tool for different woodworking applications. J BEDWORTH/BUNWORTH?The item is a wooden adjustable plow plane, a traditional carpentry and joinery tool used for cutting grooves or channels in wood. The plane consists of a solid wooden body with a slot for an iron cutting blade (not visible in the image). It has two pairs of wooden rods, which extend from the sides and are used to adjust the cutting width and depth. A metal thumbscrew on top is used to secure the blade or depth stop in place. Adze
An Adze is versatile cutting tool similar to an axe but with the sharp cutting edge perpendicular to the handle rather than parallel. The wooden handle of this adze is shaped like an axe handle and the blade also has a slight curve. They are used for smoothing or carving wood such as sleepers An adz, with its long handle, cuts with the grain, and the nature of the chips is different from an axe. While they have a similar shape, they should never be confused with a hoe used or mattock for agriculture and horticulture.Carpenter's adze or cutting adze The tapered eye in the adze and tapered handle end forces the head to tighten when swung; but enables removal of the head for sharpeningtimber tools -

Tool - Sickle
The sickle has been used for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations for grain harvesting and crop gathering. It was widely used in Australian and European agriculture before mechanized farming tools became common. The rust and patina suggest this sickle may be an early 20th-century or even 19th-century example. It was a key tool in subsistence farming, hay cutting, and manual harvesting, making it a valuable artifact of rural history. Likely from the EMMERSON Estate at Clear Lake. This is a vintage sickle, a traditional agricultural hand tool used for harvesting crops, cutting grass, or clearing vegetation. The sickle consists of two main parts: A curved metal blade with a sharp inner edge, designed for efficient cutting with a swinging motion. The blade appears rusted and aged, indicating significant historical use. A wooden handle, which is cylindrical and smooth, showing signs of wear and darkening from age and handling. The handle is attached to the blade with a metal tang inserted into the wood, ensuring stability.farm equipment, harvesting, crops, cutting tool, emmerson -
