The photos show President Geoffrey Swan presenting a plaque to Bradley Marks, in recognition of the fundraising efforts of Year 6 boys at Brighton Grammar Junior School. For many years the boys from Brighton Grammar Junior School raised money from the sale of Legacy badges and the President would present them with a plaque of appreciation. Between 1991and 1995 the boys have raised in excess of $16,000. The label mentions that they are standing in front of a tree planted in honour of a late Legatee Tom Bell. In other years the presentation is made in the same spot. Colour slide of a legatees standing near a loaded semi trailer in Eildon. The blue cabin had a yellow 'Operation Firewood' sign on the door. It was during Operation Firewood. Legatees would organise collection of wood from the country and distribute it to widows in metropolitan Melbourne. Other slides show the cutting and loading of wood and delivery to widows in metropolitan Melbourne. Was with many other slides taken in the 1950s and 1960s. The slides have been photographed to make digital images and moved to archive quality sleeves. In many cases the original images were not well focussed and the digital image the best available.A record of Legacy helping widows by sourcing, supplying and delivering firewood. This six-postcard group is the fourth in a series of records of items in the collection of Edgar Dawson DCM. Dawson was the Regimental Sergeant Major of 57th Battalion, AIF. The 57th had a company of men largely from Bendigo and Eaglehawk. These postcards are from his personal album. Many are annotated in Dawson's hand with explanatory notes on the subject.
