Photocopy of an article in the State Electricity Commission of Victoria Magazine, Contact, Vol 1, No. 4, Feb 1937 titled "Tramway 'Hold-up' in Ballarat". The story is about the hold up of the tram service by Swans and cygnets crossing the road in Wendouree Parade. Each item had a thin strip of paper attached by staple to the top left hand corner, giving the Vol. No. details. Also has an item about the issuing of stamps by Yugoslavia to celebrate the life of Nicola Tesla, "Wizard of Electricity". Missing the first page. 2441 - Copy of original document on heat sensitive photocopy foolscap size paper - Photostatted. 2441 - copy - copy from above on toner printed photocopy and reduced to A4 size - made June 2003 by Alan Bradley. Document details depot rules for depot staff, including safety, access to depot and provides a number of rules from those of Motormen and Conductors that depot staff must also follow. Includes Appendix A - first aid treatment - electric shock, wounds and burns and appendix B, a form that had to be signed by a new employee about their health, awareness of electric power, "live" and notification to senior officer if unfit to perform work in elevated positions. Used by conductors or conductors to retain and sell tickets from.Demonstrates the method of dispensing tickets by conductors, how the tickets could be arranged. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat tramways and how they were presented.Sheet of leather, approx 2mm thick, stained brown with four pockets formed on each side with another sheet of leather, stitched on all sides to form pockets to hold eight blocks of tickets. Stitching is a white colour cotton. Titled "Eight years to clear tram tracks", about the time planned to remove tram tracks in Ballarat by the CRB on their roads. Notes agreement with the SEC, mentions the Minister for Fuel and Power Mr. Balfour, cost $1.25million, quotes Mr. Oppy of the CRB. Notes that work on the removal of tracks in Sturt St had commenced this week.
