Demonstrates aspects of the SEC governance system in issuing By-laws for the travelling public, as part of their Act. Yields information about fares charged for tram services in Geelong when the SEC took over from MESCo.Eight page booklet, centre stapled. Booklet has title "Electric Tramways of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria By-Law No. 1". Pages are numbered pages 1 to 7 Gives definitions, by-laws, fares and charges, special cars, workmen cars, regulations re passengers, behaviour, nuisances, smoking, dangerous goods, luggage and behaviour of crews. Gives schedule of sections for Geelong only. Details names of SEC Commissioners. Three copies held, all with some marked changes - see inscriptions. Copy 2 - stamped as received "11/3/1936". Has Government Printer number 12195. Basis was probably used in Ballarat and Geelong when the SEC took over until the 1937 edition issued though with fare schedules gazetted. See Fares in Ballarat – from Alan Bradley 11/4/2005 – appendix for Book Copy 1 - has "Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society No. 201" written in black ink on top of cover, a large blue cross on the front cover, on change noted on page 2, with authorisation details, pencil name on front cover that has been rubbed out, and pencil drawings on back cover and dirt marks. Has been folded vertically. Copy 2 - has "Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society No. 201" written in black ink on top of cover, has been folded vertically. This brooch with its floral design is typical of the jewellery worn during the Romantic Period of the Victorian Era, when Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, was alive 1837-1861. During this period flower motifs and brooches and pins were popular.This brooch is representative of jewellery worn during the Romantic Period of Queen Victoria's rule, 1837-1861.Brooch, light weight, rose coloured gold metal with red- brown onyx stone. Flower shaped brooch with six petals, stone attached, with rose design stem which is flanged on back. Backing plate is also rose coloured metal. A small ring is attached to the top of the brooch where the safety chain is attached. There are two small holes on back of brooch. A chain is attached to the horizontal pin on the back, and has a pin on its end. There is an Inscription engraved on the back. Bob Hymans Collection Bob (Herman) Hymans (a former pilot in the Royal Netherlands Navy was born in Bloemendaal, Holland on 30 September 1922. He fought against the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and was imprisoned in Changi and on the Burma Railway. After gaining qualifications as a ski instructor, Bob arrived in Falls Creek in May 1950. After working as an instructor and supervisor at Bogong Lodge, Bob decided his future was in accommodation. After negotiating an indenture for land from the State Electricity Commission (SEC), Bob took two years to build his Grande Coeur Chalet. It burned down in August 1961. Bob also built the first chairlift in Australia. This was a single chairlift and the structure was built from wooden electricity poles. He was constantly full of new ideas and proposals for the village. Bob Hymans died on 7 May 2007. Bob Hymans Collection Bob (Herman) Hymans (a former pilot in the Royal Netherlands Navy was born in Bloemendaal, Holland on 30 September 1922. He fought against the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and was imprisoned in Changi and on the Burma Railway. After gaining qualifications as a ski instructor, Bob arrived in Falls Creek in May 1950. After working as an instructor and supervisor at Bogong Lodge, Bob decided his future was in accommodation. After negotiating an indenture for land from the State Electricity Commission (SEC), Bob took two years to build his Grande Coeur Chalet. It burned down in August 1961. Bob also built the first chairlift in Australia. This was a single chairlift and the structure was built from wooden electricity poles. He was constantly full of new ideas and proposals for the village. Bob Hymans died on 7 May 2007. Yields information about the form used in Ballarat and Bendigo by the SEC to enabling ticket checking by Inspectors on the trams and how they were packaged by the printers for the SEC.Pack of 250 "Supplementary Trip Way Bill", form No. TYE 1-580, as would have been supplied to the SEC from the printers. Has been wrapped in a sheet of paper and the number "250" within a circle written on to the sheet. Was held with a piece of adhesive tape. See Reg Item 68 for the details and use of these.
